Who we are

JewishTours.app is operated by Leo Rudnitsky, who also runs jewishinvienna.com. For any privacy question, or to exercise your rights, write to office@jewishinvienna.com. We act as the data controller for this website.

What we collect and why

  • Tour request details. Your name, email, city, dates, group size, language and any notes you send. Legal basis: taking steps at your request prior to entering a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
  • Guide applications. Contact details, languages, licence and experience information submitted by guides who want to receive leads. Legal basis: pre-contractual steps and legitimate interest in running the guide network.
  • Consent record. Your cookie choice, stored in your browser. Legal basis: legal obligation and legitimate interest in proving consent.
  • Analytics (only with consent). Aggregated, non-advertising page statistics. Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), withdrawable at any time.

Who sees your request

When you request a guide, we pass your request to licensed local guides in that city so they can quote you directly. Guides receive only what they need to answer you, and are expected to use it solely for your enquiry. We also rely on service providers for hosting, database storage and email delivery, who process data on our instructions.

International transfers

Some providers operate outside the EEA. Where that happens, transfers are covered by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.

How long we keep it

Tour requests are kept for up to 24 months so we can handle follow-up questions and disputes, then deleted or anonymised. Guide records are kept while the guide is active in the network. Consent records are kept for 12 months.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and port your data, to object to processing based on legitimate interest, and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing. Email us and we will respond within one month. You may also lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority — in Austria, the Datenschutzbehörde.
